Durango cycling community, Mountain Bike Specialists is
the premier bike shop in the four corners area. From our outstanding bicycle
lines that we carry to the historical cycling museum that lines our walls,
MBS has been the home and inspiration to many of the greatest bikers of all
time!

Ed Zink
A Durango native and contributor to the
southwest Colorado cycling scene, Ed Zink represents
the heart of the cycling community. With over 35 years involvement in the
cycling scene, Ed has put on dozens of races from the World Championships in
1990 to the annual Iron Horse Bicycle Classic to the NORBA Nationals. As
owner of Mountain Bike Specialists, he provides the vision and direction that
makes MBS the best bike shop around! Ed's wife Patti does the marketing, public relations and special events for the shop. Additionally she organized the Iron Horse Training classes and other special projects.
Ed Zink is a recipient of numerous awards including an
induction into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and was Durango's Citizen of the Year in 2004.
Durango is truly a unique town, and
nothing adds to the character better than the colorful cyclists that inhabit
the town. Lucky for MBS, we get to visit with all cycling celebrities that
make the industry so much fun. From Bob Roll, a long time road racer turned
commentator, to Ned Overend, world class lung and Discovery Team member Tom Danielson. Chances are, if you stop by
the shop during the busy hours your bound to run into a pro cyclist.
MBS enjoys hosting celebrations for our local celebrities, most recently we celebrated Tom Danielson's Vuelta a Espana stage win.
